Brown Class Cinema Tour (Melbourne & Sydney)
Thursday, 4 October 2012 at 7:00 PM - Saturday, 3 November 2012 at 11:00 PM
Beanbags, titties and microwaved Lasagne. That’s the Brown Class mantra as we bring you films that will warm your heart like a spaghetti jaffle. Watch films on the fly streaming direct to your phone, tablet or desktop or join us in disguise as we screen films around Australia in a variety of non-traditional microcinema environments. Fuck Gold Class, these are the films you don’t get to see thanks to Australia’s broken and out-of-date distribution model.
The first ever Brown Class cinema tour is a 90’s kids wet dream, with features based around video games, basketball, skateboarding, hiphop, wrestling and graffiti. The films are rarer down under than an Upper Deck hologram card with more magic than those dwarves from Golden Axe. With over 20 screenings in each city it’s a veritable Choose Your Own Adventure.
Heading up the Bayside High class of 2012 are:
Snow on tha Bluff: pseudo-documentary about Atlanta drug dealer who steals a video camera from two college students during a drug deal gone wrong. Uses the camera to film his life for the next year.
Vigilante Vigilante: A new breed of crime fighter now stalks the urban landscape, the anti-graffiti vigilante. These self-appointed urban blight warriors cover and ‘buff’ graffiti with plain grey paint, leaving many US towns with visual eyesores.
Ecstasy of Order: a doco on the search for the world’s best Tetris player and that elusive level 30.
Doin’ it in the Park: documentary feature focusing on the New York City street-ball scene and ‘pick-up’ games where even ex-NBA stars test their skills on the court.
Fake it so Real: documentary feature which examines the independent wrestling entertainment scene in Charlotte USA.
I Want My Name Back: 25 years after the historic recording of the iconic mega-hit "Rapper's Delight," former original members of The Sugarhill Gang, Master Gee & Wonder Mike, come back to reclaim their identities and rightful place in hip-hop history.
Machotaildrop: fantasy feature like Willy Wonka with skateboarding.
How to Sell a Banksy: unemployed British man rips a Banksy off a bridge, frames it and tries to sell it on the art market.
and available online for download now:
Dirty Pictures: an in-depth character study of Alexander Shulgin and his wife, the modern day creators of Ecstasy.
Marwencol: injured ina brutal bashing, a young man recreates scenes from World War 2 in his backyard with dolls to aid his therapy.
All screenings are strictly 18+
